I’ve been working my way through the ultra-violent animated TV series, Primal on All4 at the moment. Created and directed by Genndy Tartakovsky, who was responsible for the brilliant Samurai Jack, the series follows the unlikely friendship between a caveman, Spear, and a female Tyrannosaurus, Fang, after both suffer tragedies. Until the last episode it is completely dialogue free and is a masterpiece of visual storytelling and kinetic violence. Not for the squeamish but it is an incredible achievement.
